To be fair, they've gotten kids to submit their fingerprints readily during school for like decades now.

I'm sure from one of those "classes" they already had their own fingerprint on file, not knowing the maliciousness.

If that were the case, the parents should demand an explanation and removal from the system. Fingerprinting has been proven to be unreliable and inaccurate anyway. And without just cause, the kids should not have been fingerprinted.
