Apparently its made by Mormans as silent partners..
https://www.christianpost.com/news/dallas-jenkins-clarifies-his-mormons-are-christians-comments.html
it is wise to be well versed in scripture and also well versed in the doctrines of men. use the bible as discernment for the religions. mormonism is easily detected and discerning persons able to act accordingly. there are many doctrines of men in christian traditions that lead one astray, study the bible and get discernment to stay on track. the chosen is entertainment, not scripture.
From the creator: “Jenkins further stressed that he alone is responsible for the content in “The Chosen” and is inspired by the Bible.
"I've said many times the content of the show has zero influence or input from any form of faith tradition or church. None,” he added.
Jenkins continued: "I'm a conservative Evangelical. I believe in the inerrancy of Scripture. I believe in the supremacy of God's Word. I believe in the Holy Trinity. I believe in God the Father, the Son of God, the Holy Spirit, and believe that Jesus is the Son of God and all of the core tenants of Scripture.”
My wife’s uncle’s brother made the series and wrote the books.
He’s a heretic. This series is not biblical and it is frankly insulting that anyone sees this as scripturally accurate. Are some things correct? Sure. Much is wrong and the theological foundation supporting the series is not of a Bible-believing, but of loose interpretations and make believe. It’s more dangerous than straight agnostic beliefs.
I am just bringing to light that this is the situation. I have some friends that are EX-morman, they brought this up. They also expressed concern that the mormans are investing heavily in homeschooling.
Let's look at the evidence...
Hummmm.....
Mormans don't believe Jesus was and is God our saviour, even if they believe He walked on earth the same as Christians do. The "entertainment" of the chosen is fine, it's just that small tweak in ideology that can and does corrupt the scripture stripping the members of the Cult of Mormonism (LDS) OF their salvation.
It's good to bring this up. However, this doesn't necessarily mean the show, writers, or directors are influenced by Mormons.
The shows director only had three voices guided gik in the scripts: a Catholic father, an evangelical preacher, and a New (I forget if he's saved or still Jewish). No Mormon voices.
God allows His people to be blessed by foreigners. In fact I have a personal anecdote: when I was in Bible college there was a man from Pakistan who escaped to America. He was persecuted for becoming a Christian, and showed me the scars in his hands were the military drilled holes in his hands in an attempt to convert him back to being a Muslim. Thankfully he and the man who converted him were able to escape. But the person who paid for his travel? A Muslim man. I was shocked that God didn't use Christian organization or even a Christian person to bless this new convert and bring them to America. Nope, instead, got servant was paid for by a Muslim.
God will use whom He pleases. And perhaps by Mormons knowing the show is blessed by Mormons, this will encourage them to start watching this show, and challenging their beliefs and showing them the real Jesus.
Here's some verses that come to mind of God using people's not of His people's:
Isaiah 23:17-18 ESV
Isaiah 45:3-6 ESV
Fortunately they present it as very biblical. No Mormon doctrine as far as I could tell as an ex-Mormon.
