we sure about this 10% number? CDC reports age 10-14 suicide rate of 2.8 per 100k and 14.2 per 100k for 15-24 year olds committed suicide. Say cut that somewhere in the middle at like 10 for easy math. CDC reports that there are 27 reported attempts for every death... so that would be 270 attempted suicides per 100k high-schoolers... so 0.27% - even if you don't believe a word from the CDC think this one out and there is no way this was over 1% no matter how you look at it.

yes - attempted - only 0.27%.... much less for actually committed.
Attempted should be a higher figure. Those that committed would also be categorized as attempted. When you attempt, you either succeed or fail.
Attempted is a much higher figure than committed. 0.27% is higher than 0.01% - both are much much less than 10%
Remember that the CDC is claiming this number.
