🤢 These people are sick! 🤮

· East Palestine, Ohio Train Disaster in Numbers
- 50 rail cars derailed on 3 February
- 11 rail cars carried hazardous materials
- 5 rail cars released Vinyl Chloride, a flammable, colorless liquified gas that causes liver, brain, and lung cancer
- 28° Celcius / 82° Fahrenheit is required for Vinyl Chloride to become slightly water soluable
- 1 waterway was directly impacted - the Leslie Run. It feeds the Little Beaver Creek, a tributary to the Ohio River.
- 5 Million Americans get water from the Ohio River.
- 74 Million Americans get water from the various tributaries and outlets of the Ohio River, which feeds the Mississippi River
- 1 Billion+ animals of varying types - livestock and wildlife - depend on these waterways for life
- None of the waterways have ever hit a sustained 82°F in human history
- 3500 fish and aquatic animals have died in the Leslie Run in the past week
- Almost all small livestock have died in East Palestine since Friday, 10 February, especially poultry
- 4800 residents call East Palestine home
- 94% are White
- 81% of the 74 Million Americans that depend on the Ohio River and associated waterways, including the Mississippi for water for themselves and/or their livestock are White
- Zero FEMA officials have arrived to East Palestine as of 15 February
This was not an accident. This is genocide.
Two thoughts about this whole thing.
First, I posted this link.
The story here is that per some expert legal minds on the subject, they are INTENTIONALLY IGNORING the situation in East Palestine even as the temperature has increased SEVERELY on it with respect to widespread media coverage and online interest/outrage BECAUSE.....
Mike DeWine, Josh Shapiro, Norfolk Southern, State officials AND EPA FUCKED UP BIGTIME. They went through the process and took advice from the wrong people, they didn't properly document during the timeline of events and with respect to decision making, they agreed upon and ENACTED solutions (i.e. 'controlled burn') they had NO AUTHORITY TO MAKE.
The REAL REASON Mike DeWine hasn't declared a disaster and reached out to FEMA (which Democrat Senator Brooke AGAIN encouraged him to do today) is because he CAN'T PRODUCE the necessary documentation THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO when making decisions regarding the controlled burn. The EPA person in charge has to sign off on that before a decision on how to go forward is made. DeWine and Norfolk Southern didn't wait. Fresh off the FULL CONTROL GIVEN from lockdown COVID times, the Governor went ahead and approved a solution of burning the chemicals off (which that Silvio guy on Tucker said he had NEVER SEEN in 39 years of disaster response) which was doubtless suggested to him by Norfolk Southern. Little did he know HE CAN'T MAKE THAT CALL.
The EPA has to come in and do a full range of tests and they are supposed to log a timeline of activities in the meantime before they make a final call on what the right decision is. They ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT have done that all in two days. DeWine made the call, influenced by Norfolk Southern, and he fucked the whole thing up. State officials and EPA are helping to cover for him now.
They go over this in the Bannon War Room clip above. Think about this: IF YOU DID THIS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO YOU? IF YOU BURNED OFF THESE CHEMICALS IN YOUR BACKYARD, YOU'D BE IN JAIL WITHIN HOURS. ITS A SAFETY HAZARD.
DeWine and possibly Shapiro are facing potentially criminal penalties for their complicity in actions with Norfolk-Southern following the disaster, the EPA is playing dumb and covering for them, and that's why no EPA testing can move forward now and no FEMA or Red Cross or any Federal monies can be applied for. They would have to admit to failures of following typical disaster relief procedures and to making decisions they were not entitled to make.
Second: From u/RexBibendi
I think you've got a really solid point with this one. We're just a couple months from literally running out of money as a government and GDP to debt ratio is OVER 100% for the first time in recorded memory.
How do we know that the working capital exists to handle a crisis like this under our current circumstances? If they looked at the estimate of the cost/scope of the cleanup and concluded they just didn't have the budget or it would use up an inordinate amount of whatever is left (which is likely shaky anyway) (maybe they HAD TO leave it to the company.
Terrifying but not out of the realm of possibility.
P.S. - This "realm" fucking sucks.
Right, we go to fucking court for burning leaves in our backyard.

Oh yeah that's cool.. But we can't burn because here they're pissed off about the smoke.... it's stupid
Nobody can complain if they don't see smoke.
