It’s worth noting via information gathered from your link that to get there. They apparently suspended parts of their constitution regarding fundamental rights of the citizens. And changed the definition of Homicide to exclude people killed in shootouts with Military/Police. And people who die in Prison or Police custody.

And the fact that most of the murderous gang thugs are in the US now contributing to our own homocide rates. So yeah, I’m not buying the El Salvador stats.
