Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an intergral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on it's evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Hope the prayers helped :)
I believe the prayers were a big factor in my recovery and survival. I didn't know it until afterwards, doctors told my husband I might not make it. They were giving me two different antibiotics. Put a central line in my neck to administer antibiotics. There was a chance of losing function in extremities giving antibiotics through IV in arm. I knew the term central line from years ago watching medical dramas but had no clue it went in my neck. I had three IVs in each hand. Took weeks for the bruising to heal. I'm very blessed and thankful for every prayer raised up for me.
Thank you for letting me know; such an encouragement to know prayers help. May your health continue to improve!
Needed to hear this as my adopted son is in a bad state. He is autistic, suffered abuse growing up and now has long covid after getting vaxxed. Despite years of encouragement he refuses to be anything but a defeatist misery magnet - very discouraging. I can't give up on him and know I need to continue to lift him up in prayer - hearing from you has given me a much needed lift. Never give up, our God reigns.
Thank you and bless you <3
I'm sorry to hear about your son's troubles. I think there's a special place in hell for people that abuse animals and children! I'm not very familiar with autism. My nephew is autistic, he's adopted also from another country. I believe he's had it since the early years but they didn't find out till he was older. I read a lot about natural medicine and at some point ran across autism. It might have been back when I was in several natural medicine Facebook groups. Research using Aromatherapy with autistic children. I believe in the healing power of essential oils. If you decide to use essential oils or if it's unfamiliar do lots of research! Also research what companies are best. There's a lot of bad EO companies. They have become so popular the market is flooded with unsafe brands. I'll also do some research using EOs as well as herbal medicine. I'm wondering if acupuncture would be helpful. There's also sound therapy, I think that's the term. I'm not familiar with it. It was recommended to me a long time ago and I thought the doctor was crazy. Now I'm not sure it's become popular. Blessings right back at you.
Thanks. No good telling him to get meds, vitamins etc., all he wants to do is drink.
People without a vision perish came into my mind: he needs a goal, something to motivate him out of apathy and defeatism. I don't know what that is but I know the Lord does. Will keep praying for Mat to be healed and released from everything that keeps him bound mentally, physically and spiritually.
