I can't wrap my head around telling an employee to get an injection or lose their job.
I have 12 employees and told them, when they asked, since I didn't see any reason to address it before, if they want to get the shot they are welcome to. There would be no requirement to do so and they are free to do as they wish. That rule applied to masks too since nobody wore them at any point, if you feel it help, go for it, but I'm not about to tell you how to live your life.
Those that did must have been on a power trip because I'd never make anyone do something they felt was wrong - ESPECIALLY an employee.
I was fired for saying I wouldn't get the shot. I work in tech - and it was in Southern California at an extremely "Progressive" entertainment company. I was in great standing, as I was getting paid thousands extra in "top performer" bonuses and have, in writing, that my boss was training me to take over for when he retired in a few years. I spoke up because my company would give me the ability to work remote due to my performance record - but, I knew 3 other people on my team that also didn't want the shot - and they would not be afforded remote work. I spoke out in hopes to publicly set a precedent. Someone reported me to HR stating that my "opinion" was "deeply disturbing". HR called me into a meeting a month later to tell me about that - and despite protest from my boss - HR fired me because I used company time to share something "divisive and disruptive". Meanwhile, the months leading up to that - we watched our co workers spam 400 person meeting chats about how much they hated the people not getting shots - and listened to them say the same at the beginning of smaller meetings in "small talk".
I have the entire situation recorded on video.
When the right time comes, there's definitely going to be a lawsuit.
It is going to get harder because everything will be tied into ESG scoring. This is what is pressuring larger companies to bow to the green/woke/diversity gods. It is only a matter of time before it filters down to smaller companies. You did the right thing. The only way we are going to stop this is by non compliance.
