I think they have been working on this since at least 1976 and the Swine Flu. That and Sars, Mers, H1N1, H5N1, bird flu, norovirus, Hanta virus, Zika, Lyme, West Nile, RSV virus, yuppie flu were all tests leading up to Corona. Crisper tech made the job easier by orders of magnitude.
