I can't stand how these people throw around the word phobia! I'm not irrationally scared of you, I just disapprove of your lifestyle. While you should be allowed to live your life how you want (as long as nobody is hurt) I don't want it thrown in my face at every turn.
I was at a party once at my sister in laws in London Ontario many years ago. There was a gay guy there. He was ok not some effeminate freak. But the conversation turned to gayness and he called me a homophobe. I said fuck you I am not a homophobe you are a heterophobe. Pretty much ended that conversation in drunken laughter.
"Tolerant, but not stupid! Look, just because you have to tolerate something doesn't mean you have to approve of it! ...'Tolerate' means you're just putting up with it! You tolerate a crying child sitting next to you on the airplane or, or you tolerate a bad cold. It can still piss you off!"
