Recently, I was investigating adding dark chocolate to my diet daily for the health benefits...mostly because it encourages the growth of stem cells. But then I discovered this heavy metal issue. There are sources of cacao that have very little contamination, but they are difficult to locate, and you have no way of knowing if the company might mix sources for heterogeneity if there is a local shortage.
Oh my. My body knew. I get eczema from Cadmium. I've never been the biggest dark chocolate fan, but when I did get it, I would opt for Ghirardelli.. and it's on the better list.

I decided it wasn't worth the risk.

Yes, it's called Dyshidrotic eczema. Nickel, Cobalt and Cadmium will all set it off. (I guess it's an allergy, really).
I don't take multi-vitamins anymore, due to break outs that I would get. Realized the multis have the metals.
What matters is the concentration.
I am not going to stop eating steak because the trace amounts of mercury are so tiny as an example.
Where concentrations tend to be higher is with bigger fish because it bio accumulates as the little fish are eaten by larger fish (eg tuna).
Why was this post heavily edited and redacted????????
