Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
What foods are you craving, preferably homemade?
Make a cheese waffle, top it with tuna and Swiss! Mmmmm
Lol, you posted the cheese waffle directions a long time ago, every time I make them I think of you and I'm grateful :).

We’ve been doing low-carb, not really keto, but low carb.
There are some low carb breads, and what we do is eat low carb tortilla wraps.
These are things that we put in those wraps. I lost 10 pounds already. And that was over Christmas.
BLT w/avocado
Italian sub
Any sandwich, meat with cheese, mayo, etc.
Taco meat with any toppings
Hamburger! Cut it in half layer it with lettuce, cheese and tomato, and I like thousand on mine.
Hot dog with mustard, relish, and onions (grilled hotdog, that is)
ANYTHING - you put on bread, you can use with these wraps. It helps you’re a keto or low carb diet to be more fulfilling. I think the net carbs on the wraps are under nine carbs. It really made the low carb diet more tolerable.
When we first started, we were eating under 60 carbs a day. I did lose weight faster then. However, when I’m at 100 carbs or under a day, I maintain my weight, but still feel like I’m eating healthy.
I learned that a pop tart had 38 carbs in it. I don’t want to eat them. If I’m going to eat carbs, I’m going to make it worth my while. I’m going to have some type of chocolate mousse, or a cupcake or a homemade chocolate chip cookie. I’m not eating some stupid card for Pop Tart.
We also get the low carb ice cream. It’s really good, it’s a bit expensive though, but it’s worth every penny. We were actually getting the no sugar, creamers and whip cream, but it’s really not worth it because it’s only like one or two carbs per serving. But if you’re really trying to keep that keto number down, you can try those as well. Also, the Atkins candies and nutrition bars are pretty good, but you have to hit and miss those.
I did notice when eating a lot of sugar alcohols, that I did have a lot of gas. Also, my mom is 82 and she noticed that she had runny poops so keep that in mind.
Just so you know, when I send the cookies, they will not be keto lol. My problem is that I love to bake, so lots of my neighbors get baked goods, so I don’t eat them all myself.
Replace bread with whatever you like: the crust is what makes that plate, not the opposite.
