Drinking organic coffee? It likes a constant temperature and fertile soil. i.e subtropics. The only coffee-like native in New Zealand is Coprosma. We tried making coffee from the berries, but they are really small, and it is labour intensive, plus the kids liked eating the berries straight from the bushes, so we had to compete with them.

We ended up with one pot of coffee for our troubles. Best to stick to the imported packet coffee, I guess.
