From Acts 17:
The Uproar in Thessalonica 5 The Jews, however, became jealous. So they brought in some troublemakers from the marketplace, formed a mob, and sent the city into an uproar. They raided Jason’s house in search of Paul and Silas, hoping to bring them out to the people. 6 But when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some other brothers before the city officials, shouting,** “These men who have turned the world upside down have now come here,** 7 and Jason has welcomed them into his home. They are all defying Caesar’s decrees, saying that there is another king, named Jesus!”…
We are upside down again, and nothing is as it should be. If the disciples "turned the world upside down," in the early days of the church, are we near the end of the age when King Jesus will come and turn things right side up?
And how is Jesus going to "turn things right side up" if we refuse to follow the Word He has already given us? He did it back then to show us how. The time for waiting for someone else to do the work for us is loooong since past. The end of the world will come when the salt runs out.
When Christ returns, he will gather all his sheep and then destroy his enemies. No one knows the day of his return because we don't know the day when the last lost lamb is found.
I'm only pointing out that there seems to be a set of bookends in history: First the turning of the world upside down with the preaching of the gospel, and now with a turning of the world upside down in the opposite direction with a gigantically insane demonic influence that is increasing. Few of us imagined the Sodom and Gomorrah that would descend upon us in recent years.
At the second advent, the old world will be burnt up and all the sin with it:

Precisely. My apologies, I thought you were saying Jesus was going to return and reign here on Earth. I talk to too many people who try to convince others of such.
I’ve been going through some deep searching about what is the correct view of the Bible eschatology. I even sought input here with a rare original post. I then decided there won’t be any brownie points for getting everything right but there will be for helping my neighbors so maybe I won’t worry about it but keep studying to show myself approved.
This week a bible study I attended covered Job chapter 28 which I would like to share. It starts with 11 verses of what man can do, then 11 verses of wondering where wisdom is and that man does not value it and can not find it. The final 7 verses proclaim that God knows where wisdom is and through him it can be found.
The final verse states, "And he said to Man, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.'" Job 28:28 ESV

I think there is more than one eschatological viewpoint that teaches Christ will return to reign on Earth for a 1,000 years. Generally, that seems to be a pre-mill idea, the most popular of which I reckon is pre-mill dispensationalism promoted largely by the Schofield Bible. Before I was a believer, some girls in HS told me the dispensational eschatology. I think the Schofield Bible, with its voluminous margin notes, was created to confuse people.
When I stopped reading/listening to man's doctrines, I was able to see from the scriptures how things go at the end.
