I was conducting a safety/environmental audit of a deep sea drilling company a number of years ago. I asked a geologist about so-called fossil fuels. After working in the Gulf of Mexico oil field for so long I started to hear about oil reservoirs which had, at one time, been sucked dry, slowly begin to fill back up. This geologist confirmed that for me.

Yes it is true.

Which is why when oil is called a fossil fuel it is misleading.
