Yes, by Andrew Wiles, I read Simon Singh’s related book last week. Really nice, especially Evariste Gallois and the Japanese mathematicians.

I had that on my mind because I'd just watched the Star Trek TNG episode where Picard says the theorem continued to baffle mathematicians even centuries later.

Then, just one year after the show ended, it was proven.

Talk about needing a quick retcon.
