Do you remember the Mar-a-Lago raid? The Q-haters were saying it was the end of Trump for sure and the Q followers were saying the Mar-a-Lago raid will amount to nothing but that this now sets the precedent for Democrats to be raided, and a few months later, what happened? The Mar-a-Lago raid was mostly forgotten and Biden’s home was raided too. So extrapolate how Trump’s “indictment” might play out from here using the Mar-a-Lago raid as a template.
Biden's own people are the ones to have originally informed the authorities that he had the papers. I'm sure that the issue with Trump and Mar a Lago was a factor in them declaring they had the papers, though.
There has never needed a precedent to be set for former presidents to be indicted. Just a DA and grand jury with the balls to do so.
I just really don't think this is as much of a "gotcha" as people are trying to make it seem.
But thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Even if I don't agree with you, it helps me understand a bit of the reasoning.
There was also that draft of an indictment that was released that showed that a grand jury planned to indict Nixon with a couple of counts of obstruction, conspiracy, and bribery. He just resigned first and then was pardoned. That would have been the precedent back in 1974.
