"The entire Catholic church" and "regular Catholics." Hmm. How does your Venn diagram work, that there are "regular Catholics" that aren't part of the "entire" church? The first Christians were Messianic Jews, as opposed to the Pharisee/rabbinical Jews, and of course the Sadducees, Karaites, Essenes, and non-aligned. Their biggest opposition was from other Jews calling them heretics, much like Christian denominations attacking each other.
In your uneducated opinion, yes it is only what you think. The history shows that we were first and we were established by Jesus and the apostles. Jesus was our figurehead from the start, as a matter a fact the council of Nicaea got rid of so many heresies about Jesus it’s insane.
Learn your history cause you clearly don’t have a clue as to what actually happened. The only one that is brainwashed around here is you, as you criticize what you clearly do not understand, heretic. Look past the propaganda and truly learn what about what you hate. Your lack of knowledge about the history is just sad.
As a quick edit, you claiming they were Christians just goes directly into my point, there was only Christianity back then and they were the Church, there was no distinction until much much later. Like I said you are apart of the knock off brand.
John was the first Baptist and Christ said what he was doing was right. The problem with all of it is exactly what Christ warned about, many false prophets would come. They would either be ignorant of the scripture (not born again themselves) or twist scripture to form their own cults (not born again). I honestly hate the labels. We are Christians. We need to throw out all traditions and go back to the scripture and start over. So many false doctrines have made it to where 99% of the people reading do not understand and the reason they don’t is because they have already been given a preconceived notion from some false prophet. None of us want to admit that our ancestors were wrong. We all want to believe what we’ve been taught is truth. The thing is, until we are all willing to challenge and question everything then we are doomed to believe lies. C.I. Scofeild and John Nelson Darby were heritics. They made fortunes off of their opinions and it has shaped what most Americans believe to be the gospel. Rome was loosing power to threat of Christianity so they decided (Constitine) made up a story of a vision he saw and decided to make Christianity his power and authority in order to control the masses. Don’t want to loose dem taxes. It kept Rome in power but would go on to lead the greatest genocide the world has ever known. At the hand of the papacy, millions and millions of Christian’s were killed for the simple possession of scripture of for having church outside of the Catholic Church. They still teach that outside of the Catholic Church there is not salvation. This would crucify Christ daily. Christ died that I would not have to go to a man to intercede between me and Christ. A priest does not have the power to forgive sin. Christ did that on the cross. And if I have the gift of the comforter then I need nothing but my own soul to go to the throne of God and share my petitions in the name of His son who He was pleased to Crush on the Cross so that I would come back to the Father. The gospel really is simple and easy to understand if you are born again, study, and do so in context. So yes I was wrong by saying they were baptist but it just seems the closest to what the founders taught. Paul was my hero!
And they were Catholic as the Catholic Church was then established.
They were Christian’s, the Catholic distinction only became a thing because of the splits within the Church. The history is there and is on our side. Baptists did not appear till much much later.
John was a baptist. Him and sthephen were the first martyrs. Catholicism has way too much paganism in it which was preached against by Christ and the apostles. Peter was hyjacked. And Constetine didn’t come along t hill the 70th century I believe. Baptism not sprinkling was what the Church taught. The papacy is antithetical to all that Christ taught.
Catholics are the first Christians…
Unless your talking about one of the knock off brands?
But muh paganism

I'd be interested in hearing your opinions on this video.
The deciple’s were the first Christian’s and they were baptist.
That is interesting.
A lot of people say the apostolic church aka Orthodoxy or Messianic Jews were the first.
Keep in mind that the Baptists are a branch of Lutheranism that came many years later.

Not really the same thing as the baptist of today though.
