I love Michigan. Of course I dont mind winter and snow. Our license plates say Winter Wonderland and it certainly is. My nephew was home from Michigan Tech this weekend and says they still have 10 feet of snow on the ground in the woods.
Only in Michigan can you go from mountains to dunefields to an inland sea all in a short drive (yes we have two very old mountain ranges, the Porcupines and the Hurons). The natural beauty of Pictured Rocks and the Sleeping Bear dunes are unrivaled. Take a kayak along the Superior lake shore and Oh My! Our forests of white pines are awe inspiring. The ice falls in the UP, the ice caverns on Lake Superior could inspire poets. The Dead River gorge is one of the coolest places Ive ever fished. Not far behind is the Big Two Hearted from Hemingway fame.
I know the people of my State are MAGA while my government is cucked beyond belief. I have the means to move elsewhere but I choose to stay and fight this evil from within their stronghold. As an outdoorsman I wouldnt want to live anywhere else.
I had a really nice time in rural Michigan.

They also have some unexplained, historic diamond finds. There's likely an intriguing story there that does not include glaciers.
