I think it was back in the '70s when NYC was going to split from NY. I wish it would have happened. NY would have then been a good red state.
Note even NYC barely eeks out a "good" political system.
LOL! I know a Conservative who used to work the Siena polls when I lived there myself. He always complained at their biases.
As for the poll, I used to live in NY State and moved out in 2015 after spending 35 years there. It is a beautiful state, especially upstate in the mountains.
Unfortunately, the Dems have ruined it with high taxes everywhere and many of the upstate cities are decaying and turning into welfare havens or immigrant dumps.
The state is run by the handful of demonrat counties were the cities are. The rest of the state is pretty deep red. A few time a year our RINO's sabre rattle about leaving the state but nothing happens.
