Boastful but Patriotic post

My 1st grade child was awarded 2nd place in our Congressional District by the VFW in Patriotism for a school project he did earlier this year. We are so proud of him.
Congratulations, proud parents (and rightly so!)!
๐บ๐ธ I say congratulations! Go Patriotism!
Keep doing what youโre doing! Not only is this is a great day for you as a parent, but for your child is well and everyone around him or her. Congrats.
Can you give more details about the project? I'm interested.
The project was to study the American Flag and learn what each aspect represents, then depict it in a scale drawing. He /we were not aware of this being a judged project so we were surprised when we were invited to an awards banquet and had no idea what it was about. We were only told that he was getting an award. Apparently this program run by the VFW carries on through high-school and awards scholarships on a national level. The assignments get more involved as the students get older. What a great way to introduce children to civics and get them involved. Thank a veteran! And if your Childs school is not participating, ask them why!
This is good to know. THANKS.
Was in a local GOP meeting the other night, after our state organizing convention on the 22nd we in a certain region of my county have to brainstorm community outreach ideas - projects, events, etc. I was thinking of things like a Conservative Kid skateboarding event, an art event, things like that.
Great Ideas! I myself am taken back in awe of this myself. What a wonderful thing to start our children learning about civics and what it means to be an american this early in life. It seems to me we have a deficit of knowledge and or apathy in our young adults these days that take our forefathers sacrifices for granted and do not intently appreciate what it means to be an American. American greatness is born from strong foundations.
When I was in high school, my civics and Am History teacher, who was absolutely awesome, asked me to write a play about our liberty. It became a farcical comedy "A Day Without the Bill of Rights." Everything that was a joke in that skit has come true. :(
That was about 1975.
Me too!๐ธ๐บ๐ธ

I love that there are still wholesome things like this in the world. Thanks for sharing and for caring for your young patriot.

This is awesome fren. (Kudos to the parents as well. Children learn what they live) Congratulations.
If you're not first, you're last!
Assuming there are 2 participants, you are correct.
Whoever thought quoting Ricky Bobby would get so many down doots.
Did you touch my drum set?
Did you just slide right into "Step Brothers"?
