There’s a huge difference in EV acceptance between the USA & Europe. I don’t know how good the EVs are in Europe, but in the US, there is a huge difference in quality.
Huge difference in quality of EV vs ICE or EV vs EV?
The first EVs were crap, battery degradation and slow charging meant driving an EV was a PITA.
The technical development the last 5-10 years have been staggering, unfortunately the impression from Gen 1 EVs are lingering in people’s minds as we’re approaching gen 5 vehicles.
Take battery replacements as an example. Having to change batteries on the newest generation of EVs are almost unheard of, like changing the engine on a brand new ICE. It happens very rare on every million car or so, and usually it’s enough to swap the bad cell(s) for the battery pack to function correctly.
There are 100s of myths surrounding EVs, and this site’s spreading all of them with no second thoughts.
Check some of the stories here on GAW. There are so many people citing charging issues and the high cost of battery replacement or the problems of small damage to batteries. These complaints are also not limited to our site.
These stories are made by people that have never driven or owned a BEV.
Battery replacement is a non issue on modern BEVs.
The clientele here on GAW looks at ourselves as awakened and enlightened, but when it comes to BEV (and a few other issues) many are heavily influenced by their confirmation bias.

You’ll have to enlighten me. I have not heard of any conversation about BEVs here in the US. What’s the difference between an EV and a BEV?
