Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Chicken cut into tenders. So much can be done with it and the kids will eat it all.
If it's that specific, honestly the grass fed ground beef is hard to top. I use that for burgers, meat loaf, etc. I like it better than bison even, which was my go-to for quite awhile.
Edit: From someone else's answer - or pork tenderloin. That is my other main meat staple. Actually that probably is the number one main one tbh. I shoulda thought better but I got all excited
Beef
Loaves upon loaves of mass produced white bread. ๐
When I was taking care of my dad & doing his shopping he only wanted Wonderbread lol.
Sadly he passed, but yeah he was almost 90. But he ate good other stuff, lol, avid hunter & fisherman.
Lobster. I love that but itโs too expensive to consume on a regular basis.
Center cut, thick sliced bacon. I have no idea what's wrong with the rest of these bozos. ๐
American Wagyu beef tenderloin...can be used for burgers, stirfry, roasts, steaks, stews, etc...
And good for bartering!
Breakfast sausage from the local meat market.
Oh dear, can no longer eat mammals due to late stage lyme, so it would have to be something with wings or gills. I'll go with wild caught striped bass.
Have you ever had striped bass? I remember spending hours at Jones Beach on Long Island in the 50's while my Dad surf casted for them, and when my boy turned 12 I took him out on a charter on Cape Cod, we caught them all morning, so good. As of the moment, I am salmoned out.
You ever go to concerts at the music pavilion at Jones Beach? Some people pull their boats up for a free show
Pork loin
Ill take the beef.
The beef, for sure.
The beef you mention might be a good idea. I'd want steaks and roasts. I could grind, cube, roast, grill etc. To me, that might be one of the most versatile things I could think of. ๐<--- black angus ๐
Frozen whipped cream frosting! I love to bake, with the basic vanilla whipped cream frosting, you can make all different types of frostings. Itโs hard to get it now because of Biden, so thatโs what I would want.
