Or every incentive to pretend it's real. This is an area whose tourism industry heavily relies on it being the real holy land.
Today: "We are the real holy land! Look at all these confirmed, real miracles that happen here, like the holy fire!"
If a hoax is revealed: "Well, the fire may have been a hoax, but we're still the real holy land! Look at all these other confirmed, real miracles, like..."
Well you can see the pillar that was damaged the year centuries ago when the Orthodox Patriarch was not allowed into the Sepulchre and one of the other Christian bodies occupied the space. The Israelis are beating people up to keep them out this year. Might want to look into this one a bit more before delurking.
When I say the pillar was damaged, I mean that it was damaged because the fire went through it to where the Patriarch was standing. Ever since then he’s been allowed in.
There’s a very large body of evidence connected to this miracle that has been happening continuously for many centuries. That outweighs a casual Internet comment.
Another thing is that archeology can't prove the connection of one major religion to Jerusalem, since Mohammed never went to Jerusalem while alive. He supposedly touched down on the Temple Mount on his way to heaven.
Actually archeology continues to uncover pretty incredible evidence. This is the first I have ever heard of this fire. We were not told of this when I visited.

Do you have support for your claim that this is inauthentic?

This mockery is obvious since I assume you're fully aware God's dwelling place is far from Jerusalem.
