Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I am wide awake. Can't seem to make myself fall asleep. I went to bed and slept great for about two hours, but for whatever reason, I woke up and can't silence all of the random thoughts filling my head and stealing my sleep. **sighs dramatically for effect
I use prayer, sometimes repetitive prayer to relax my body, grab the Book and read psalms or chapters I am not familiar with, but the game changer for me is Magnesium gummies, it amazed me that they worked as well. I have tried a lot of things, it's a lifelong issue, I had night terrors as a child, drank a lot of alcohol in my twenties and most of my 30's, alcohol will ruin sleep. Our circadian rhythms are not that evolved along with the rest of reality, our realities, artificial light, screens, schedules that are not daylight based. I read a thing that pre lighting, people would have two sleeps, they would usually hit bed at dark, lighting cost money, but then wake up around 11, use their fuel, eat again, maybe some sewing, socialize with family, take care of the babies, make more babies, then go to sleep again around 2-3 30. I probably read that article around 12 30 am because I fell asleep around 11! Magnesium and God's word to get out of my own head helps me get 61/2 straight.
Thanks so much for the advice. I feel like I will rest well tonight.
Hi. I have found that sometimes, God really just needs me to be awake to pray. So I pray non-stop, sometimes for hours. Sometimes I am called to read his Word. Other times my eyes are too tired, so I play his Word on audiobooks out loud, so that the words of Jesus are being spoken. I just keep praying. And I pray, God, if it is your will to allow me sleep tonight, thank you. If it is not, God, just use me the way that you need me to, and please let my prayers be heard.
Father, we thank you for our Fren here, who is having issues sleeping tonight. May you strengthen our Fren immensely, Father, and at least give our Fren the feeling of being well-rested tomorrow morning and throughout the day. Let us all be able to rest soundly, knowing that you are in full control of everything, Father. Thank you for intervening in our world so that we can get to know you, God. Please continue to save us all from the evil, satanic worshippers who are trying to destroy humanity and our connection with you, God. Please protect us. Protect the children. Bless all those who are reading this or having difficulties with sleeping, God, and May we find our strength in You and Your Word. Thank you, Father. In Jesus name, we pray this. Amen.
Thank you so much for praying with me Fren. God bless you!
Wow...thank you so much for sharing your heart for prayer..."the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much"...
This really challenges me to to spend more time in the Word and in prayer...the needs are so great and the time is so short...
You are at the right place fren. This is great awakening after all.
It's working!!! Well, for most. I see more and more of my friends and family starting to seek answers now instead of just rolling their eyes and relying on the "conspiracy" label to comfort themselves in the presence of some uncomfortable truths.
