The sad part is, it's the old people who will starve.
This is insane. We need, as a nation, to stop allowing this kind of behavior and punish the perpetrators quickly and strongly.
The security video should be broadcast on all the news stations and the law-breaking people shown to the public so that the picture of who and what is behind all of this is made clear.

Think it's bad now? Just wait until that store closes forever and moves to a more civilized place where they can conduct business. Living in east Tennessee, I see these videos and news reports and I ask myself... At what point do these people living in these shithole cities stop and look inward and ask themselves, Why are WE doing this to OURSELVES?
It's hard to leave everyone you know, especially the elderly like my mom. She is of sound mind and strong will and she's not going anywhere. But, I have had it with Chicago. I am too old to survive false hope that in another 4 years we might get a normal person as mayor. If it wasn't already too late to stop the death spiral, I don't know how you would stop it now. There won't be any mentally stable people to populate the dwindling ranks of police/fire. Who in their right mind would want that job? You think it's bad now, wait until our local "Brandon" sinks in. People who can retire early are doing it in droves. They will not only leave the force, they will leave the few safe and stable neighborhoods in the city that are stable only because of the policy/fire residency requirements. Woke turns everything to shit.
I have noticed one thing in the lives of people and cities and nations... So I work out at the gym a lot, and I do mean a LOT. I am also clean and sober for 34 years now. I try to live right, eat right, exercise, practice spiritual principles, and simply get on with my new life.
But over the years I have seen people and nations, mostly that are victims of their own appetites, spiral more and more out of control until (and here is my thesis) THEY REACH A POINT OF NO RETURN, and recovery is impossible. The amount of effort and work it would take to get back to normal is too great to bear.
I have seen it happen with drugs, alcohol, obesity and food, and with gluttonous appetites of all kinds. In my own lifetime I have witnessed Venezuela going from a once happy and prosperous nation to a Socialist shithole. Once a person or a population reach that point of no return, it's basically over for them and the trajectory thereafter is either a fast, or a slow, slide into irrelevance and death.
I have a niece who is half my age and she is morbidly obese. I know that there is no turning back for her now...it hurts her to exercise or even walk any distance. And she WILL NOT change her eating habits. So I expect to outlive her, for her there is no turning back, she is on the road to an early death.
I just hope that America has not reached that point of no return; I pray that the American Republic can be restored, one nation, under God. I think we will know for sure before this year is out.
I see the same thing. Alcohol and sugar/junk food addictions. In my own family it makes me angry because everything is made harder by it. So unnecessary life is hard enough.
