I think they would love to make Hunter go away but his crimes are far too entangled with Joe Biden. How do they admit to the public Biden has been committing treason under everyones noses for decades and never been punished? Suddenly the spotlight is on all of them and they know they'll be held accountable.

Obviously if the DOJ investigated Biden, he would replace those at the top. What they are doing relates to job preservation (theirs).
