If we're to truly grasp the enormity of this situation, we have to remember why these companies are committing such "baffling" business blunders.
It's not about making money. It's about sending a message. Obviously, Bud Light in their grand motive to satisfy their DEI, CEI, ESG overlords (HELLO, BLACKROCK???) have chosen to insult their customers and then play damage control and backtrack once savvy consumers started getting wind of their ESG play. In fact, I don't even think they're sorry they were caught. I guarantee their executive and supervisory board both are still in full lockstep with going along with the ESG mission.
