Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
That was a beautiful tribute to Violet...I feel your loss...I lost my first child early in the pregnancy and even though I later had five other children there is always the thought that there was someone else that should have been part of your life...as your heartfelt poem so beautifully expresses. The blessing is that we will know our unborn children for all eternity, which is so much longer than the breath of life we experience here on earth. It is heartwarming that our children are waiting to meet their mom and dad and any siblings while resting in the loving arms of the one who gave them life. God is good and even though we don't always understand...we trust in the one that loves us more than life itself...God bless you and yours...
Thank you! You are blessed to have so many children. We'd always wanted to have two children, but we were unable to have more than one, especially after my wife's back injury in 2019. Our girl has no cousins either. So with our daughter, the future of the family rests on both the Japanese and American sides. Although perhaps Christ will be returning before too long, I pray.
Well you do have two...just one you haven't met yet...I have a niece named Violet...such a pretty name...
I agree...I hope the Lord doesn't tarry too long...eager anticipation...
Your Japanese/American blend sounds delightful...AND I hope your wife has recovered from her injury...back injuries are not fun...
Yes, she is getting better. A lot more mobile. She's a nursery school teacher with too many years picking children up at the waist and not her knees as she should! Her disc was deteriorated badly, but she has improved. I thought the name Violet was pretty and being a Peanuts fan, it's a shame that the character Violet disappeared from the comic by the '80s.
Love the Peanuts gang...grew up on the sweet innocence of Charles Schultz's wonderful creation...those were the days my friend...
