I think it is a system of thinking that is designed to provide an external blame on a person's own problems. In every one of these cases, that group is taught that someone else is to blame. There is a lot of psychological instant relief in that way of thinking, but it provides no actual solution.
The real kicker is that we all do this in some facet of our lives.
Yes but when we blame the coercive government we have a leg to stand on.
I used to work with a guy in NJ who came from a long line of democrats. I would make fun of his senator Menendez as the most corrupt senator in congress. He was actually proud of that fact and would say “they are all corrupt but at least Menendez is being corrupt for us. It’s twisted thinking to believe the citizens of NJ actually benefit from their politician’s corruption. People cannot see the big picture and only care how it benefits them.
I personally feel like corruption is such a wide spread phenomenon that it will always be there at some level. Those that depend on government cheese are more inclined to believe that government is benevolent and overlook the corruption. And like you said, blame others for their own circumstances.
