The girl I work with is from Russia her entire family lives there. Her answer is this. Her family has said that they claimed Putin was sick and dying for three years now, yet there he is. Take it with a grain of salt.

Yes my entire family lives here too. The NATO coping is pretty obvious from here. Russia's doing just fine, you definitely wouldn't know there was a huge military operation happening from anything in daily life.
