Posted in the general discussion, but I think this deserves it's own post.
So, I was listening to Clownfish TV's (pop culture commentators that has a good feel on the culture wars) recent episode discussing the mess between DeSantis and Disney, when one of the hosts mentioned, briefly, that "right-wingers" are now attacking anime on social media.
This is surprising news for me, so I want some evidence if this is true and what is going on, because I have a feeling that there is more to this beneath the social media surface that might negatively impact our GreatAwakening.
Nothing turned up so far when I searched YouTube and Truth Social was equally quiet on that front, so I was wondering if it was a hoax.
Bullshit. Back in the day, Sailor Moon taught me to take my dreams and ambitions seriously and never give up on them, friends will always have my back but at the end of the day, my intentions are my own. Dragonball Z taught me that there’s always a stronger version of myself that I need to strive for, even if I’m not the main character I can still do my part. Cowboy Bebop taught me to make the best of any shitty situation because hey, that’s life, shit sucks sometimes but you can’t just run from your past forever. And Naruto taught me that I have a unique set of skills that only I can master and everyone’s got their own demons to face, eating at them from the inside.
Growing up with anime taught me that I don’t have to give a shit if you don’t like the shows I watch. I learned some great life lessons, and saw plenty of great anime tiddies along the way.
Agreed. Add the movies Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and maybe Ninja Scrolls along with the series Bleach and Hunter x Hunter. There are a lot more, but those are some of the very best.
As far as people attacking anime, who gives a shit? I form my own opinions about pretty much everything, mainly because I am not one of the mindless sheep desperately seeking the safety of the herd.
Because how many times have we not given a shit only to whine later about our entertainment and culture being ruined? Gotta nip it in the bud early.
