Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Bonjour bonjour!🤓
I play the EuroMillions for the bit of dream that comes for my CHF 3,50. I only play if the top prize is over 40 millions (so I don’t play twice a week like game junkies do). I also usually have to get back on the apps days later because I don’t follow the draws.
Friday, I mistakenly played twice my usual numbers… and realized yesterday I won twice. Not millions though, but enough to fuel this little habit of mine for a year.
I think God winked at me. He doesn’t want me to be filthy spoiled, but he likes me to be joyous.
That’s like something I heard about sport podiums: the silver medail is always disappointed because he did not reach the gold and the bronze medail exultates because he reached the podium: sometime, we are happier with just a bit of luck than with everything.🙏🏻
Awesome fren.
I wanted to let you know I've seen you used "God winked at me" twice now (this and the picture you recently share). I don't know if this is a common phrase, or your own invention, but I love it and I'm stealing it. It's the perfect description.
God Bless!
You’re not stealing anything, Fren: I gladly share this with you. BTW, google « God winks »... it’s so common that it might be actually factual. There was another God wink which I posted in october 2021, my first one. I swear this is not an iPhone artefact: https://files.catbox.moe/4qwfst.jpg 🙏🏻
Yes! God is good. He blesses us in so many ways :)
Now you sound like George. When the pot goes up, he plays. However we have never been so lucky as to win enough to continue playing. Haha. Congratulations and thank God for that wink he gave you.
Here's how I do to have more chances than most others: I have 2 lists of numbers. I play one repeatedly over months it I must. Each time my numbers aren't drawn increases their chance to come the following time. When I earn something, I switch the list.
This time, I got a few dozen CHF, enough to keep playing... next time the pot grows huge as it's just been won by a lucky fellow.
Best I did was a few hundreds a few years ago.
I've never been lucky enough to win any huge amount. I think $10 is about the most I've won and that was on a 'Scratch off.' I'll keep your Strategy in mind and tell George. I don't play anymore, only he does when the pot is big.
I told my colleagues that, should I win, I would pay their salaries adjusted to inflation to all the ones older than 50s so we could all retire at once.
Some of the managers got scared, others decided to be extra friendly with me.🤓💐
I would also round up my family members and friends in need to pay their debts and whatever emergency they need to get fixed (roof repairs, etc.).
I actually just need a relative little for myself to retire at once as I like the simple Burgundy life.
