Mom made us chew aspirin. It worked and proved you were sick if you were willing to chew up aspirin.
Mom made us gargle warm salt water. I still remember being little gargling
I remember the salt water, too. Later on, it was gargling with a an aspirin tablet crushed in warm water. It still works!
Warm water with baking soda
My mom told me if I did a good enough job scrubbing the dirt out of my scrapes, then she would not have to scrub them. It was a genius move, very empowering.
