I'm curious how free speech squares with carrying around megaphones and volume ordinances. I was at a dairy farm with my wife and kids and a few friends last week and these liberal faggot hippie antifa looking kids showed up with one of those megaphones and stood at the edge of the property and filled the air with their stupid voices. I'm all for people being able to say whatever they want within earshot of others with their own voice if they're on public property but there's something about bringing a megaphone that seems over the line to me. I should have to hear your voice amplified everywhere if I'm standing far enough away not to hear you yell without technological assistance.
That's my feeling on the matter but I'm curious how that works with local ordinances vs. freedom of speech, etc. I would think one could easily make the argument that such devices used for protests, unless the protest is planned and has a permit and a roped off area or something, shouldn't be allowed to disturb the peace in that way.

Sound waves are physical energy against which you have the right to defend yourself.

Yeah I guess the law’s jurisdiction would be to enforce quiet hours or decibel ordinances. I wouldn’t count on converged law enforcement though.
“unless the protest is planned and has a permit and a roped off area”
Like Charlottesville was. The permit just gave the communist collaboration of antifa and police a heads up to plan their attacks and frame-up jobs.
