I have used that site but never liked it. Seeing Hoffman's corruption (bottom half of article) only confirms my feelings.

I think some people use it to post articles that they hope will build a following of 'connections' to advance their career goals. I always thought it weird that there is no way to just post your resume there, just profile and recommendations.
