Today on patriot podcasts there was only a mention of the satellite phones issued to 50 members of the Senate.
There could have been lots of good questions like which 50? Was it partisan? Are they all Democrats or Republicans, working out of the sunshine with taxpayer funded phones? Fifty senators is more than the Intel committee of both sides.
On the chat I told everyone to call their senators! Taxpayer funded phones means we have a right to know!
I called Rick Scott's office. His wonderful aide called me back in 1 hour. Steve said they hadn't heard this and he looked it up and found it! (He said I was quick lol) He saw the Sgt of Arms put this forward and he is sending this where it needs to go, because they are all interested in the questions I have as well.
They will respond by snail mail, my preference. His staffer said if I didn't like the response to call him back and we will move further....he agreed it's our right to know, and he doesn't believe Senator Scott knew about this. He does now.
"..elected by Senators.." Who nominates?
That's a very good question; the answer is The Speaker of the House, who was Nancy Pelosi in Mar 2021. Very interesting.
While I was looking around that .gov website I caught this as a responsibility of the SAA
Emergency Preparedness The Office of Security and Emergency Preparedness provides the management structure to oversee and integrate security and emergency preparedness planning, policies, and programs for the Senate. Working in close cooperation with the secretary of the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Capitol Police, this office is responsible for continuity of operations training and assistance to the Senate as well as integrating Senate security plans.
Continuity of operations, you say ...
With her background, I get a WH vibe... No one in government tells anyone how a program benefits the "giver". They just promote the benefits to the recipients, but always an ulterior motive...sat phone will be trackable everywhere. Has Starlink received a new gov. contract recently? Someone has to provide service for these phones..
I get a WH vibe too. Plus, if you look at the responsibilities of SAA, they don't perfectly match up with her very specific intelligence and cyberintelligence background. And then we are reading a lot about continuity of operations, continuity of government, etc., which is part of the SAA responsibility, so this is all very interesting.
I agree 100%. But of course we also want to see WHs everywhere!
But aren't their regular phones trackable too?
Yes. Except when there's no service.
But her name is Karen guise!
edit: I was wrong, The Speaker of the House nominates the Sergeant At Arms for the House. Can't dig up where the Senate SAA comes from yet. Both SAA swap off every other year being in charge of the Capitol Police.
