The ship was ensuring the safety of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the economic zone of Turkey.
That's the scary part. The incident happened in Turkish waters. The Ukrainian government is now taking their terrorist acts outside of their borders, and are also trying to piss off the Turks - because hey, why not? I mean they were shelling Ukrainian citizens, because they spoke Russian. So, damaging a Russian ship patrolling a pipeline (oh and why should they not? Given the pipeline in the Baltic) is all fair in war, right? Right?

Fair? Absolutely.
Righteous? Not so much.
