This is a Constitutional (or 'Continuity of Government') question. Last I heard was that the entire Senate was offered satellite phones in case of some unnamed "disruption" and at the time 50 Senators had received them. Odd that such phones were not, at least publically, offered to Congressmen.
So, assuming that there is some disruptive event, What is it that the Senate alone can do that does not require the House members input? Is there some Constitutional or "Continuity of government" clause that empowers the Senate alone to act, and not involve the House of Representatives?
Senator Rick Scott FL was not aware of the phones when I called last week.
So I question about everyone being offered.
And who did accept them we have a right to know as they are taxpayer funded.
Whatever rules you are looking for I don't think they will be abiding by them.
So I want to know who accepted them on our taxpayer dollar?
Good question... the answer to which just MIGHT reveal what is behind it all.
I think it’s a pretty safe bet this is nothing more than a rumor. The House has more power than the Senate in a contingency situation
Hmmm, did NOT know that.
No such thing as a secure phone. No such thing as a secure technology. Lets get real on marketing concepts.
Operation Starfall?
Your guess is as good as mine.
Maybe the sat phone is for tracking them... especially for a certain predicted round up.
Advise and Concent.
Right.... good point.
