Absolutely! There is already a device out there that handles this. Put the phone into the side of the wood chipper with all of the warning labels.

Good malware is invisible. The best you could do is keep a minimal set of essential files backed up encrypted and then just replace your phone or factory reset it every month or so.
Also, you can run open source operating systems on your devices. GrapheneOS is probably the easiest to install but it only works on pixel phones
