Hollywoke is going broke. There is no such thing as a blockbuster anymore. Most new films are unwatchable garbage and even big marketing dollars don’t draw interest. The recent Disney bomb , The Little Mermaid, is proof. Nothing Disney produces is any good, and even if it was there are too many people who want nothing to do with increasing their bottom line...
Like anything else, film is not dead, it is just temporarily out of sorts because it has lost its mission...
I think we can look forward to the death of the old guard and the emergence of something entirely new...
I don't claim to know a lot about the film industry or imax. I've been to imax once to see Top Gun Maverick. It's an hour from me and we rarely go to movies. I loved the imax theater stadium seating and big screen. If more action movies like Top Gun etc were there I'd go more. The one we went to is connected to a museum/interactive for kids. They show more kid's movies than adult. In my opinion they didn't give Top Gun Maverick enough dates. That's the only example of movie I have because we don't follow the latest releases. I'm more into watching old movies from the 70s & 80s.
