On Sunday, The Gateway Pundit reported that an explosion-like sound shocked the residents in the vicinity of Washington DC, echoing across nearby areas in Maryland and Virginia.
There are a lot of bases that could have responded. I am not buying sonic boom was required.

It takes minutes to scramble a jet from the ground and get in position. If there is one already in the air, the response is quicker. So why would you bother to scramble if you already have one in the air? Gotta use the old noggin.
