I'm probably going to get downvoted to hell for this, but I quit paying attention to Pat Robertson around 15 years ago, when I realized how much of a charlatan grifter he was.
Hopefully he truly got right with God.
No downvote from me - I got the same vibe as well.
Same here.
Same here. All televangelists are grifters.
Priestcraft is very strong on the Teevee... 😒
Add Jerry Falwell to that. But oh my parents loved his Old Time Gospel Hour.
I always looked at it this way:
"Since we're not supposed to speak ill of the dead, let's knock 'em while they're alive!"
I'll give you a pass when you're on the other side of the ground. Until then, you're fair game.
😂🤣
But why would President Trump give such a stirring eulogy for a someone like that? I mean, if we viewed everyone who asked for money and did a few shady things the same way, we wouldn't have anyone to depend on, including President Trump himself.
Same here.
I get what you're saying. I always had mixed feelings about Robertson. A lot of folks don't understand what "tele-evangelism" was back in the 80s and 90s. To give them a bit of an idea of the ludicrousness of it all, I point folks to one of my all time favorite bands and one of their videos, the Hooters' excellent song "Satellite" from 1985....which PERFECTLY captures the nonsense of tele-evangelism from that era.
