This post is not to judge anyone that has watched or does watch porn, I am just trying to call attention to what I feel to be a very important issue.
It is hard to overstate the negative impact that porn has had on our world and on relations between men and women. A lot of the content you will be exposed to on sites like Pornhub just by visiting the home page is disturbing. Almost every porn website has a 'teen' category and recruits girls that look as young as possible (or are even <18, as is the case in child pornography). Incest and sexual positions & acts that are degrading to women are the norm in porn.
Habitual porn consumption warps the mind of the viewer, and greatly contributes to abusive & degrading conduct by men against women, and this conduct is reinforced by patriarchical privilege, and also by gender norms in politics & the media (including films, shows & music).
A lot of women (particularly in the younger demographics) feel increasingly pressured to behave like porn stars and engage in sexual acts they may not otherwise be comfortable with, due to these acts becoming the most frequent desires of male partners. Porn also depicts sex as being almost if not exclusively about fulfilling the desires of men.
Horrifically, one can even find porn depicting 'rape' fantasies. Is it any wonder that in such a world, 1 in 5 women on college campuses (likely underreported) can be expected to be raped during her enrollment?
Porn became much more accessible with the public release of the internet, but the widespread adoption of smartphones enabled porn consumption in the palm of one's hand, which has likely contributed to a further increase in global porn watching.
On top of all this, reports from actresses in the porn industry describe horrific working conditions, where women are yelled at, physically and emotionally assaulted, lied to about what will be expected and then not be paid unless they do the newly expected sex act (ie anal which is very painful for many women).
I would not at all be surprised if the CIA itself (or other intelligence agencies) were the primary funder and organizer of the U.S. pornography industry, because porn serves to negstively impact the enemy domestic population in a myriad of ways as described above.
Porn serves as the receptacle for sexual expression for many, in what has become an increasingly sexually repressed world. The damage caused by porn is immense and must be acknowledged for its destructive impact on global society.
P.S. I strongly believe that porn falls into the category of a 'Silent Weapon' deployed against humanity as described in this document. Other examples include 9/11, the 2008 banking fraud and 2020 'shutdown mania'. I cannot recommend enough reading and re-reading this document if you want to understand the present reality on Earth. https://enchantedlifepath.com/war-on-humanity/silent-weapons-for-quiet-wars/
"Everything that is expected from an ordinary weapon is expected from a silent weapon by its creators, but only in its own manner of functioning.
It shoots situations, instead of bullets; propelled by data processing, instead of chemical reaction (explosion); originating from bits of data, instead of grains of gunpowder; from a computer, instead of a gun; operated by a computer programmer, instead of a marksman; under the orders of a banking magnate, instead of a military general.
It makes no obvious explosive noises, causes no obvious physical or mental injuries, and does not obviously interfere with anyone’s daily social life.
Yet it makes an unmistakable “noise,” causes unmistakable physical and mental damage, and unmistakably interferes with the daily social life, i.e., unmistakable to a trained observer, one who knows what to look for.
The public cannot comprehend this weapon, and therefore cannot believe that they are being attacked and subdued by a weapon.
The public might instinctively feel that something is wrong, but that is because of the technical nature of the silent weapon, they cannot express their feeling in a rational way, or handle the problem with intelligence. Therefore, they do not know how to cry for help, and do not know how to associate with others to defend themselves against it.
When a silent weapon is applied gradually, the public adjusts/adapts to its presence and learns to tolerate its encroachment on their lives until the pressure becomes too great and they crack up.
Therefore, the silent weapon is a type of biological warfare. It attacks the vitality, options, and mobility of the individuals of a society by knowing, understanding, manipulating, and attacking their sources of natural and social energy, and their physical, mental, and emotional strengths and weaknesses."
Therefore, porn can be understood as a silent weapon in the sense that it makes no obvious physical noises as compared to conventional weaponry, and yet you can argue that pornographic videos (the bulk of which are produced by only a small handful of massive corporations) have caused social, sexual and overall societal damage equivalent to a whole silo of nuclear weapons.
Just because women are paid handsomely in the porn industry doesn’t mean the job isn’t degrading. And for every multimillionaire actress, there are hundreds if not thousands that aren’t paid at all because they’re trafficked and abused.
Your concerns about OP’s Leftist-like rhetoric (patriarchy, etc) are spot on.
The women in porn as well as man, chose to do so freely. Women also make much more money than their counter parts. The post mentions rape fantasy and other taboo. Funny thing about that, it has been proven that more women than man are into rape fantasy and old vs young porn.
But you already know. It’s the man’s fault.
Some, arguably even most, porn stars are voluntarily engaging in that “career”. And they should be appropriately shamed for participating in such degeneracy just like the LGBT community.
However, the porn industry as a whole has a major problem with sex trafficking, and at least some people are coerced or drugged into performing against their will.
It may not happen in the big name channels that you’d find on pornhub, but it still happens. To say that all participants are “asking for it” is a disservice to the few who were forced into a life they never wanted, or regret their choice yet aren’t allowed to leave.
Why does using the term 'patriarchy' have to be considered a 'leftist term of suspicion? I apologize if you feel that was the wrong choice of word. I am not blaming men for the ills of the world, but to pretend that women do not face dangers to their safety as a result of their gender is to deny reality.
The term "patriarchy" was invented and propagated by feminism, which is a form of cultural Marxism (aka Neo-Marxism) nearly identical to the notions of white supremacy and "cis-hetero normativity".
Marxism, as it was originally formulated, split humanity into two classes: bourgeois and proletariat, the upper and lower classes. It's fundamental assumption is that these classes are always doomed to fight each other in a zero-sum game for political and social control. Ergo the solution is to abolish these classes by forced redistribution of wealth.
Cultural Marxism does the exact same thing, just with different class definitions. For feminism, it's men vs. women. For BLM, it's whites vs. basically everyone else. For the LGBT crowd, it's them vs. cis-hetero normativity (aka normal, non degenerate people).
The notion of patriarchy assumes that men and women are distinct classes that have always been in sociopolitical conflict, will always be in such conflict, and that any win for one side is an automatic loss for the other side (they think it's a zero sum game). There is no such thing as men and women cooperating or understanding each other. This is why they say men can't comment on "women's issues" like abortion or rape. Not only do they think men are incapable of comprehending women's issues, they think the very attempt to have a dialogue constitutes violence (words are, after all, violence, hence the concept of a "microaggression"). In their minds, everything is political; everything is about power. You either dominate or submit, and since they think men have dominated for centuries, it's only fair now that women dominate at men's expense.
Jordan Peterson does a pretty good breakdown and debunk on the notion of patriarchy, and other Leftist terminology. His debates with Leftist pundits on Youtube will illustrate this deeply problematic worldview.
Which dangers do women face that men do not? Rape? Men get raped all the time, not just in prison but also boys being taken advantage of by female teachers (which happens a lot more commonly than is widely accepted). Plus, women falsely accuse men of rape all the time, which is at least as bad if not worse for the man because society has been conditioned to uncritically support the woman and condemn the man, even if the woman later confesses she lied. Wage gap? That has been discredited so many times from so many angles, it's not a valid argument at all.
Agree with a lot of this but the term patriarchy was not created by feminism lol. The term is as old as time itself.
