I've been playing this game and others in the series since I was a kid in the late 90's. The calls to boycott seem a bit over the top and off the mark imo.
It's a classic tale of good (heaven) vs evil (hell). The premise is that Hell is being unleashed on the Earth and humans (with the help of Angels) have to fight against it.
They will call anything and everything evil that distracts you from their lessons and rituals and chants. They need your body and money for their purposes.
Eh, it's a video game called Diablo. Fastest selling Blizzard game in history.

The game involves you fighting demons and satan.

I'll stick with the word of God and leave the video fights for others.
Yeah, we noticed the supposed merchandising tie-in.
So where in the commercial are people fighting against demons, rather than giving in to them for a sandwich?
It’s called budget. They wanted to make a quick commercial without spending a ton of money.
‘This spicy chicken sandwich will help give us the energy to fight el diablo and his minions.”
A cheap, dialogue-based commercial doesn’t need to be pro-satanism.
Ugh. Spare me this thread. We go too far sometimes.
If it was out of context like an award show or football game.. then yes.. it would be a problem.
This was for a video game.. called Diablo.. about demons..
The response to cancel them over that is ridiculous. Taking something out of context like that is leftist territory.
They are collaborating with Diablo IV.
Order any sandwich online -- it's in one of the last frames.
I fight Satan and Demons in the real world every day. No need to rot my brain with video games to pretend to do it.
