If they offer it to one candidate they have to offer it to the other candidates or they can be (charged? accused?) of offering political donations to the candidates due to offering them free air time. There are all kinds of stupid rules for this stuff, and they may include the feasibility of the candidate - I can't recall on that.

To show they are "fair and balanced"? Hardly anyone watches CNN so they tuck this interview somewhere on the line up hoping no one will see. 😵💫
