They actually build a lot of Japanese cars here in the US. Honda has a major factory in Columbus Ohio and I think Toyota builds some cars/trucks here as well.
Thanks for correcting me fren. A company that I used to work for has their HQ in Columbus and they bragged that they were built in Ohio, I just assumed it was Columbus.

Yeah...they make BMW and Mercedes SUVs here too. They're affectionately called, Alabama trash cans.
ALL foreign vehicles over a certain GVWR are manufactured here because of the chicken tax.

Honda is in Marysville, Ohio (NW of Columbus) and Toyota has several plants across the US.
