That is an interesting way to think about it. They accuse us all the time of worshipping him, But what if we're actually showing Respect and Loyalty to a father figure? It's something they would have no understanding of, wouldn't recognize, have not experienced.
Thinking further..... fatherhood is one of the things the Left has stolen from current culture. Interesting because previously Communism encouraged the populace to think of their leader as a father figure, Lenin, Stalin, etc.
yeeeeeeesss beat their ass
Excellent
Agreed...
Our entire culture is one of absconding fathers. Dads who should be there for their families are instead cucked, disrespected, and treated like trash while the women and children are elevated. Probably the greatest sins contributing to this is fornication because fornication makes men effeminate, and the sin of human respect bc guys want to be included and not ostracized. MAN TF UP AND DO WHAT'S RIGHT REGARDLESS OF WHAT SOCIETY THINKS.
I was with you until you said "fornication makes men effeminate". What do you think the word "fornication" means
fornication is sex outside of marriage. effeminate means refusal to do the difficult thing or excessive desire for softness and pleasure.
Marital Sex - being fathers and raising families is difficult and requires manliness.
Fornication - sleeping around without responsibility is for weak men who don't want to do the difficult thing
It seems like under those definitions sex inside of marriage is also fornication, unless it's for the purpose of generating offspring
birth control and overall sex for pleasure is also effete.
I dont think that is biblical at all
You can see in the context of the verse, he gave her no children ON PURPOSE because under the law at the time, those children would have had his brother's name and continued his brother's family line instead of letting it die out. And Onan did not want to raise that kid, and maybe coveted his brother's property (which would likely be given to his children if his brother never had an heir).
This verse has nothing to do with "sex for pleasure" vs "sex for reproduction".
It is no longer considered a brother's "duty" to sleep with his deceased brother's widow if they had no children. The entire custom the morality of this scenario hinges on is not part of Western culture, at all. So even if this passage had a moral lesson applied to us today, which it doesnt, it would be about family legacy and inheritance, not sex for pleasure vs sex for reproduction.
It is entirely disingenuous to just put in bold the part where he didnt give her children, and act like all ejaculation without children is sinful.
It's like taking the verse where Jesus tells the fig tree "may no one ever eat fruit from you again" and using it to claim Christians are not allowed to sell groceries
I have been saying these politicians have been acting like immature teenagers since Obama. When they are being corrected (even out of patient love) they get mad and blame and shame the parent. Any attempt to get them to look at truth or take responsibility is demonized.
Spoiled people really resent lessons about personal accountability and Trump illustrates tbese lessons every single day.
