Apparently, they once had a system where, if a patient died under their "care", they had to put a certain kind of lantern outside their practice to let people know. People could make up their own minds if they wanted to take a chance with Dr. Hack or not.
The WHOLE medical profession is a conflict of interest...

I hear in China the doctor gets paid if the patient recovers. Kinda makes better sense.
That's not true. You pay upfront in Chinese hospitals.
However, traditionally, Chinese doctors are supposed to prevent you from getting sick in the first place. If you get sick, they've failed.

An unintended consequence would be that doctors wouldn't want to take on really sick patients. After all, they might die.
