My husband works for a federal contractor and on a military base. They all worked today and none of the subs even cared about losing a Monday off. The vast majority of Americans don't give a shit about "Juneteenth."
Yep it was Bumblin' Biden. Traditional celebration includes free stolen merchandise from retailers in Lefty cities and bon fires of businesses that don't bow to the narrative. Later in the evening it ends in the culmination of mass quantities of alcohol and drugs being consumed with a finale of random gunfire affecting those it is in honor of. Chiraq had 21 gunfire injuries on Juneteenth Eve and is expected to erupt into the third world shithole it is famous for tonight.
Yep — it’s been a part of Texas history lessons since forever cause the remoteness of Texas kept slaves from finding out they were free until June 19th — it’s really never been more than a Texas thing ( and certainly wasn’t a “ holiday “) it took two years for a ship to arrive in Galveston to announce the end of slavery— I have no idea why anyone but native Texans even care — rest of the country already knew slavery had ended two years prior 😐
A celebration of a republican President leading white soldiers of the union army to defeat the confederacy and abolish slavery. Millions of whites died to abolish slavery in the USA. Communicated to Galveston by a ship crewed by white people.
It’s a celebration of white accomplishment.
Blacks should pay reparations to the whites in thanks.
My trash is picked up on Tuesday and I don’t know if the specialized truck operator took today off for the Juneteenth or not. Hopefully I won’t lose sleep wondering…
The banks and post offices in my state were closed today. I work for the DoT and we were open because 6/19 isn't a state holiday here, just a federal one, and we are closed on the holidays the state recognizes
The celebration of Union troops landing in Galveston, which marked the announcement that slaves in Texas, a Confederate State that had recently lost the Civil war.
Slaves in Non-Confederate states remained enslaved until either their state outlawed Slavery or the passage of the 13th ammendment.
Two states that didn’t end Slavery until the passage of the 13th ammendment - which were they?

Yep. Our trash isn't being picked up today too.
Trash collection is slavery.
The Garbage Men are Feds?
Our trash WAS picked up! Lol go Utah 😯
Been a Federal Holiday since I think last year. Or maybe this year. Dementia Joe signed it into law.
Totally forgot about it till my Professor announced class was canceled today because she also forgot about it.
You mean Biden did this?!!?

I thought Juneteenth was a celebration of gay pride.
That’s the whole month of June. This just makes it extra special.
