I have read through this entire post and took your advice to look up the history of the pledge. Although Bellamy, a Christian socialist minister, contributed to some of the wording of the pledge, his original pledge is not the finished product. So while you have a valid point, I am not sure I would consider that the pledge is a socialist, commie construct that does not possess any validity...it is important to know the history of things...but our history has been rewritten so frequently who knows what is really true...
